It’s Time to GetClicky!
A few days ago I posted about the value of adding google analytics to your blog site to track your visitors — how many and from where they come.
Well, this good idea has gotten better. I have recently found a website called GetClicky. It is FREE to sign up and is similar to google analytics. It is easy to install on your blog or website — I just did it in about 30 seconds, and like google analytics it tracks your traffic.
However, better than google analytics, it does so in REAL TIME. This means that when you view your stats you are seeing up-to-the-minute data, not what happened yesterday. Of course you can see what happened yesterday (historical data can be found by clicking the blue drop down menu in the top right corner), but you can also see what is happening now. You can make changes based on real time information.
Other benefits of GetClicky is that you can filter the traffic to compare subgroups of visitors. You can also track what folks are saying about you on twitter by entering keywords that you want to monitor on Twitter and GetClicky will create reports automatically. You can then reply or retweet directly from GetClicky.
After reading about these benefits, I have added this tool to my blog today. I will let you know how I personally think it compares in a future post.

Hi Norene,
Sounds like a fantastic little tool. I’ll have to check it out – thanks.
It would be good for the internet, if google and the like didn’t monopolize everything.
Keep in touch,
Andrew.

Hi Norene,
I’m still trying to learn Google Analytics. I have it installed, but I don’t fully understand what all I can do with it other than view my stats.
Would you say GetClicky is better? I’ll have to check it out.
Thanks, Heidi

Heidi,
I do like getclicky better. They have really cool reports that are very easy to understand. I like the fact that anytime I look at the stats they are up-to-date. I guess I’m just not very patient!

Hi Norene,
Thanks for the tip on GetClicky, I have Google Analytics installed and it is not showing any visitors.
I know that I have visitors by the comments on my blog and my stats in the CPanel.
It’s always good to have another option.
Take care,
Jeanette
